Advertise your community on the Adz@GZ Network boards!
 
How would you like to advertise at the GZ of 50 worlds and towns at the same time? All you would need to do was to place one free order, instead of contacting each of these 50 caretakers. And, would you accept to display other communities' announcements at your own world's or town's GZ to make this network become a reality?

AW Info Squares introduced the Adz@GZ Network back in November 1998, and February 2001 all members were asked to renew their membership as the system was improved. Currently the network includes the GZ of AlphaWorld, AWCC, Metatropolis, AWTeen, Broadway, NewYork, SW City, Horizon City, Universal Town Network, Pink Vilage and many more, and they will all display other members' ads.

How does the Adz@GZ Network work?
It's pretty much like a banner exchange system known from the www. Each network member creates a Adz@GZ board (pict1.rwx) at the community's GZ. That's all you need to do, besides submitting the registration form. The membership is not valid until your board can be seen from your GZ (your community's official start coords, for worlds this will always be 0n 0w).

To advertise on the network boards you must be a Network member, and you must make a reservation in advance. Currently the boards are busy a couple weeks ahead = your community needs an advertising plan:)

Each network board will display the same JPG with a teleport action to a similar main board located at AW 0n 25e, which will include the updated description text and final action (teleport/url). The ads will basically be ordered by Adz@GZ Network members, or they might be picked from general ads submitted for the AW Info Squares. AW related ads/news only.

Adz@GZ Network will make sure that the JPG is updated every 3-7 days. That's a nice side effect - your GZ will be updated even when you are not thinking of it...:)

Network members submit their orders via the AW Info Square form, and by entering their Adz@GZ password, their ad will be given highest priority. The Network will soon have it's own web form to be linked from the Members Pages.

Here's some facts concerning the membership:

  • You will get a password to access your current member status on web.

    • Wanna test it? Please enter the Members Section by using the password=demo.
  • Each day your membership runs you will earn one Token.

    • Because of scripting matters, a full month will count 30.5 days. February 28th members will earn 3.5 Tokens, while they will earn 0.5 Tokens on March 31st.
  • Each day you use the network for advertising you will be charged 12 Tokens.*) Note that the price might get adjusted, and there might be speccial discounts as well to be announced on the members page.

    • *) Before Nov 1st 2001 the cost was 8 Tokens per day.
  • Your order must be of minimum 3 days, and maximum 7 days.
  • Orders can not be placed earlier than 60 days before execution day, and the member must have earned the needed amount of Tokens before the network is reserved.

    • By accessing the Members Section without a password you can check the current reservations.
  • To make sure the ad will be up in time, your order (including JPG and other details) must be submitted at least 7 days before execution day.
  • If you have collected 100 Tokens or more, Adz@GZ Network can place your "general ad" and charge you for Tokens without your approval.

    • This will be called a FORCED AD, but won't leave you with less Tokens than the cost of 7 days.
  • New members will get their first 3 advertising days for a total of 12 Tokens!

    • Meaning a new member can reserve their 3 days advertisement after just 2 weeks!
  • The Network is volunteerly and manually operated, and ads are not replaced at midnight sharp. When making a reservation, you should expect the ad to be displayed on the boards for +/- 1 day.
  • Adz@GZ Network claims the right of human misunderstandings, delays and mistakes. This is a free service for whatever it's worth:)
The only reason to refrain from joining the Adz@GZ Network, is that your community is meant to be a secret. Or - that you don't want your residental members to know that there are other communities out there...


We guarantee:
Being a member gives you the right of advertising on the network boards, but you might also be interested in what to expect of the JPG you will display on your GZ, and that you won't be in control of.

  • Ads will be updated on a weekly basis, at least 
  • No JPG will be larger than 25K 
  • No commercial ads will be displayed, if so they need to be strictly AW related 
  • No porn or political prophany will be displayed
  • Ads ordered by Adz@GZ Network members will be given highest priority
  • No charges - except the virtual Tokens to keep track on the queue:)
  • Membership can be ended at any time

You can adjust the pict.rwx and it's surroundings as often as you like, as long as it is within 20 metres from GZ and easily seen from there. You can also add animations or use a different horizontal picture object as long as it's size is similar to the size of the pict1.rwx board.
