The AW Cache (pronounced as "cash") is a folder on your hard drive that contains all of the objects, textures, pictures, sounds, avatars, property, and other media that your browser has accumulated while visiting worlds. Occasionally you will find a need to clear this cache folder when a world updates its object path or objects do not load. This page will tell you how to clear your cache. Please be careful when deleting folders.

1. Exit Active Worlds.

2. You need to find the Active Worlds directory on your hard drive. By default, the directory is installed to C:\Active Worlds\. If you installed it to a different directory, find that directory. The above picture shows some of the folders and files that should be in your AW folder.

3. We are interested in deleting the cache folder. Right-click on cache and select delete.

4. Restart AW.

Clearing your cache will not cause any major problems, so long as you just delete the cache folder. It is also good practice to delete your cache every once in a while if you visit many worlds and download lots of data. After clearing your cache, the next time you enter AW everything will re-download.
