
While in AWNewbie we ask that you follow some "common sense" rules so that you and others can have the best time possible in AWNewbie. WatchKeepers are expected to enforce these rules while in AWNewbie and on duty. If you have any questions please use this website's contact us form or you may ask a Watchkeeper.
The following is an excerpt from ActiveWorlds, Inc.'s content guidelines. These guidelines are used in all AWI public building worlds, including AWNewbie. Please refrain from using ActiveWorlds or AWNewbie for:
1. Displaying material containing nudity, pornography, or sexual material of a lewd, lecherous or obscene nature and intent or that violate local, state and national laws.
2. Providing material that is grossly offensive to the online community, including blatant expressions of bigotry, prejudice, racism, hatred or excessive profanity.
3. Promoting or providing instructional information about illegal activities. Promoting physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or promoting any act of cruelty to animals. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities: Providing instructions on how to assemble bombs, grenades and other weapons.
The following are AWNewbie-specific rules and guidelines. Any objects built in violation of these guidelines will be subject to removal. In addition to removal of these objects, you may be ejected (removed) from the world.
Please limit coronas to size 50 or less. Coronas larger than size 50 will be deleted.
Do not cover any sizable portion of AWNewbie with signs or other objects.
Do not change, delete, or move any property that has not been built by yourself without permission of the builder or of a WatchKeeper.
Do not use pictures that are updated using the update= tag.
Do not create objects in areas that are being used by someone else.
Any objects that are questionable, but are not explicitely prohibited by these rules, may still be deleted or changed by a WatchKeeper on a case-by-case basis.
The following is an excerpt from ActiveWorld, Inc.'s conduct guidelines. These guidelines are applicable within 400 meters of all public worlds. In AWNewbie, these rules are enforced throughout the entire world.
1. Please do not insult other tourists or citizens by use of inflammatory or offensive statements or images. We ask that you refrain from expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity. Please do not harass other users, including verbal abuse or personal attacks.
2. Please do not engage in racial, religious, ethnic, or sexual slurs, lewd comments, or generally disruptive behaviour in public areas.
3. Public meeting areas are not appropriate spaces for cyber-sexual behaviour, sexual orientation discussions or activity.
4. The use of all caps is considered shouting, please refrain from using caps unless you are intending to shout. Please refrain from flooding (continuous posting of repetitive text)as this can be annoying to users.
5. Activeworlds Inc. or its associates reserve the right to enforce compliance with these guidelines, which may include temporary ejection from the world.
The following conduct rules are unique to AWNewbie only.
Sharing of URLs containing .zip or .exe files is prohibited.
Please do not advertise events for other worlds without permission of a WatchKeeper.
Please take any problems you have to whisper as complaints about ActiveWorlds, WatchKeepers, or other community groups will not be tolerated in AWNewbie at any time.
Please follow all WatchKeeper instructions, failure to do so may result in temporary removal from AWNewbie.
WatchKeepers (those in bolds) are authorized to eject for periods of up to 1 week.
Please do not advertise for other events in AWNewbie. Spam is not appreciated.
Continued, excessive, or severe violations of these rules may result in permanent removal from AWNewbie and/or a report made to ActiveWorlds, Inc.
While we know that most visitors to our world will enjoy themselves without resorting to disruption, these rules were put into place for the benefit of everyone. Thank you for visiting AWNewbie!
