Citizenship Extentions

Please remember that your citizenship is ultimately your responsibility, AWI do not make premature extensions because your citizenship is about to run out.

Some Questions and Answers about the Citizenship Extensions......

1. How will the time spent in AWSchool GZ be verified by the executive leadership?

Here I ask each person to send a 'gram when they "go on duty" to the relevant account (AWSAide for Aides for example). So in effect what this means is when going ON duty a quick "On Duty" gram to the account and then a quick "Off Duty" when leaving.

Only two hours (not less) a week are counted towards the cit'ship extensions.

IE:
1/2 an hour one week = 0,
3 hours the second week = 2,
6 hours the third week = 2,
1 hour the fourth week= 0.
total 4 hours for the month

2. How will the courtesy time be handled for those citizens that help out across many other groups? Is it a one time thing or if someone helps in 3 different places for the specified time period, will they get credit for each helper group?

If you're in multiple programs (GKs, PKs, AWS), you only get credits in the reward program for one group. Those who are *cross* programs need to choose the one program as their *primary* credit. So, for example, if you're a GK and you teach in AWSchool - you'll get credit for the 2 hours in one program.

3. If a citizen is attached to a world, does that mean that citizenship will get the "courtesy" time, but they will still be paying for that citizen when they renew their world? Or should they remove that citizen from a world so they do get the entitled amount of citizens for which they are paying on their world and their "courtesy" time on a world?

Citizenships attached to a world are part of the purchase price for a world, essentially they are *free* with the purchase/renewal. For most AW users and volunteers they have their original citizenship, and if they are a world owner they have additional citizenships attached to the world. So if a primary citizenship is attached to a world I'll have to think about how we'll deal with it on a case by case assessment, as I can't make price reductions in world sales.

4. If a person receives "courtesy" time which is for time served in the past, does that time stay with them in the event that they have to leave AWSchool?)

You receive 6 months at the end of every 6 months of commitment. If you serve 9 months, you only receive 6 months of extension. You must make a commitment in 6 month blocks essentially.

The Community Service Rewards aren't a method of payment for service rendered - I need to be clear about this part :) They are a thank you for making a serious commitment to the Active Worlds Community. This is why we ask that there be a minimum amount of time (2 hours a week) spent on one specific project, and that this commitment be made for 6 months at a time. We want to reward people for giving back to the community, not lure them into community service with prizes and payments.
